PRESENCE is an invitation to step out of the rush of everyday life for a moment and come home to yourself.

On their new album together, Mitsch Kohn and Sascha Kid weave neoclassical compositions with intuitive music born spontaneously during their concerts.

Mitsch’s distinctive piano playing opens up expansive soundscapes, while the warmth of Sascha’s cello brings a captivating depth. Across a wide musical range, their instruments weave together a powerful, sensual expression of life.

The pieces created in the studio and the spontaneous moments captured in concert speak, in different ways, to the same experience: meeting life with an open heart and giving space to whatever is present. PRESENCE makes room for quiet thoughts and profound emotions alike, inviting you to listen, breathe deeply, and come a little closer to yourself.

The final four tracks on the CD form a commissioned work: EARTH SYMPHONY. For the new Koshi collection — OCEAN, FOREST, RIVER and MOUNTAIN — Mitsch composed a distinct neoclassical piece for each of the four chimes and recorded them together with Sascha.

MOUNTAIN opens up a view of the vast horizon — a place where the sky seems closer and much of what felt large and important below suddenly becomes small.

FOREST leads into an earthy, mysterious world full of depth and magic.

RIVER tells of movement, change, and the many currents of life. Ever changing, it flows from its source through rapids and waterfalls into a broad, tranquil river that eventually meets the ocean.

OCEAN opens a space of vastness and depth — and the possibility of feeling connected to something far greater than ourselves.
