Repetitive, constantly repeated or even perpetual prayer has been known in many cultures since ancient times. Thus, Apostle Paul is said to have asked, “Pray without cease!“ – This form of prayer is a particular exercise for opening the heart. In the spiritual practice of Eastern Church, the repetitive prayer as a permanent invocation of Lord Jesus Christ is also called “Prayer of the Heart”. By use of a prayer chain (called Mala) with 108 beads, Asian believers recite various mantras in respective cycles. The present album now reconnects the “Prayer of the Heart” of Orthodox Church with the Far Eastern tradition by the powerful and mystic number of repetitions (108). Multiple repetition of a mantra allows the Divine presence to build up a particular holy vibration in our hearts, which can lead us into higher states of consciousness and ultimately into transformation.
The album contains 3 cycles of each 108 mantras, chanted in German, English and Spanish, which could be heard separate as well as ongoing in sequence.
For a restless body and a troubled mind the music provides quiet and relaxation. So, new energy and power for everyday life might arise out of this spiritual source. By this contemplative music with chants sick people could be aided in healing processes, mourners might receive consolation und dying people could get assistance and support from highest spiritual levels.
